The U.S. tax system is broken. The Internal Revenue Service claims “taxes don’t have to be taxing,” but is that your reality? Taxpayers shouldn’t be burdened with a complicated tax code or an abusive, unaccountable IRS, but for most Americans their tax reality is a nightmare. Our tax enforcement system and the complexity of our tax code place a massive burden on the average taxpayer, and hurt most those who have the least, because they are designed to serve social and economic agendas before “We the People”. Americans need a tax code that works for all of us, and a tax system that puts “service” back into the IRS. Tax Revolution Institute (TRI) is a non-partisan, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability and integrity at all levels of the U.S. tax system, while researching and developing simple and innovative tax reform solutions to advance freedom and prosperity for all Americans. Through FOIA requests, briefings, testimonies, advocacy, research studies, white papers, and educational programs, TRI will expose corruption, fraud, and incompetence within the U.S. tax system. We will provide educational tools and resources for tax accountability to policy makers, grassroots organizations, and the American public. The problems with our tax system demand nothing short of revolutionary change. Tax Revolution Institute will research the economic impacts, viability, and long-term effects of current tax reform proposals, in order to replace the broken U.S. tax system with an effective alternative that works for all Americans. TRI was created to solve – not manage – problems in our tax system, in pursuit of the freedom and prosperity of all Americans. Our leadership and staff have diverse backgrounds and political persuasions, but we are united by the conviction that Americans need a better tax system that works for all of us.
