1,000 Days promotes action and investment to improve nutrition in the 1,000 days between a woman’s pregnancy and her child’s second birthday, when better nutrition can have a life-changing impact on a child’s future and help break the cycle of poverty. Founded as a result of the powerful evidence showing the foundational importance of nutrition in these first 1,000 days, we mobilize advocates, thought-leaders, policymakers and our network of over 80 partners in order to improve nutrition for women and children in the U.S. and throughout the world. We believe that all children – regardless of where they are born – deserve the best start to life and the opportunity to reach their full potential. The 1,000 Days partnership promotes targeted action and investment to improve nutrition for mothers and children in the 1,000 days between a woman’s pregnancy and her child’s 2nd birthday when better nutrition can have a life-changing impact on a child's future and help break the cycle of poverty.
