If anyone is up in Denver, stop by Factotum Brewhouse and try Fronen!! It's ok to test some of their other brews on tap too!
The Kolsch Fronen, was scheduled to released at Factotum on August 9th, 2015. The release party was a bit underpopulated as it was midday on a Sunday, but I got to sample it along with a few other brews. It turned out great and am very pleased!
I named the Kolsch beer that we made up at Factotum Brewhouse: Fronen. Fronen is German for INDULGE. I felt that this brew was a bit indulgent as it was quite sweet, bready, and had quite a powerful white wine flavor as a traditional Kolsch should have.
On June 28th, 2015, I submitted 3 of my brews to a home-brew competition in Denver. There were close to 90 entries in this competition and I was 1 of 2 winners. This was a competition put on by Factotum and CO-BREW (essentially contract brewers for home-brewers that put the beer on tap for sale) and sponsored by the GABF (Great American Beer Festival). Now just being a winner in this competition was an honor, but a part of winning the competition is that you get to brew your winning beer on a larger scale at one of these brewhouses. I am scheduled to brew my beer on July 15th, 2015 and am very excited to brew this beer on a 7 BBL system (around 220 gallons!) Check back for updates and pictures!!!
I have been working very hard over the past few years trying to perfect my brewing techniques. I will not claim that they are perfect, but I have produced some pretty impressive brews. I get constant complements and encouragement from friends, family, and co-workers on my beers and on starting my own brewery. It has been a dream to make a living doing something that I am very passionate about... brewing. I am currently working on laying out the possibilities of starting my nano-brewery, and then, if successful, expand! Thanks for stumbling upon my page!! Please check back to see if progress has been made on my part.
