Our goal: to use our collective resources, relationships, and expertise to build an organization that fosters public awareness and dialogue about persistent problems affecting the well-being of residents and leads to collective impact.

211 Community Impact (211 Ci) is a Newark-based non-profit community organization. Our mission is to stimulate interest in community issues and foster action for change by providing innovative community education programs, public policy information and resources, and forums for active community engagement and inclusive decision-making in Newark. 211Ci works to provide high quality programs and information, coordinate solutions to the root causes of problems impacting the interests and well-being of Newark residents, and generate opportunities and resources for community engagement that are responsive to the concerns and interests of Newark residents. Guided by the belief that those directly impacted by the problems in their communities are essential to finding solutions, 211 Ci draws on the wisdom, voice, and experiences of Newark residents to guide our programming and the issues we address at a community level. 211 Ci partners with schools, businesses, churches, local agencies, and community organizations to increase the opportunities and resources available to meet the following goals: • Educate youth and adults through community education programs, public policy information, forums and resources that build the knowledge and skills necessary for the effective exercise of civil rights in a democratic society. • Build our community’s civic capacity to support, monitor and advocate for policy reform and provide forums for the community to be informed about public policies that impact their daily lives and engaged in the policy-making process. Our vision is that through a multi-layered, multi-generational, and dynamic approach to providing community education, public policy information, events and resources we can energize resident’s interest in their community and engage them in the policy issues and solutions that affect their daily lives.

That every unemployed eligible adult member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church family and the surrounding communities achieve favorable employment. “And look out for one another’s interests, not just for your own.” Philippians 2:4 The Metropolitan Baptist Church Employment Ministry, MetroWorks, is a product of our visionary and Pastor, Rev. Dr. David Jefferson, Sr. We realize that God is our source, but He uses work as a resource to ensure that our needs are met. MetroWorks is composed of men and women that give of their time and talents to assist those that are in search of employment, as well as employment alternatives. Our volunteers work tirelessly fostering relationships with businesses, job seekers, as well as community services to form a collaborative group effort of resources. We will continue to make our contribution to the community at large by equipping them with adequate tools, techniques, as well as training and support for finding and maintaining employment.
