The city of St. John's is warning residents of Quidi Vidi, the Battery and Outer Battery to take precautions because of high tides expected along the coast early this afternoon. Enviornment Canada is warning of rapid tide-like changes in harbour and coastline water levels all along Eastern Newfoundland. Abnormal tidal changes may be noticed in many areas.

Wet weather has resulted in heavy water build up on the Trans Canada Highway. Holyrood RCMP say hydroplaning is a danger as water fills the ruts and drivers continue to drive without adjusting to conditions. Drivers are bieng asked to keep their speeds down.
