The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University is America’s oldest natural history museum and a world leader in biodiversity and environmental research. For 200 years, the Academy has explored the remarkable diversity of our natural world, sharing these discoveries with the public through extraordinary collections, innovative exhibits, educational programming, and publications.
Three SEPTA bus routes run within a block of the Academy. Southbound Routes 32 & 33 use 19th Street. Northbound, Route 32 uses 18th Street, while Northbound Route 33 uses 20th Street. Route 38 uses 20th Street in both directions. In addition, the Westbound Route 48 uses Arch Street, while several Subway-Surface Trolleys and the Market-Frankford Line run under Market Street. Surburban Station is the closest regional rail station. Phlash Trolleys provide quick and easy connections between the Academy and other Philadelphia attractions and hotels.
