Description

The Ambassador Club of Portsmouth is a civic, social organization committed to strengthening the community through public service and charitable contribution. Established in 1933, the club prides itself on giving back to the community in part by donating to those in need and investing in the education of local youth. Members of the club gather each year to help needy families in the surrounding community by stuffing dozens of grocery baskets full of food and delivering it to them at Christmas time. It is the goal of the Ambassador Club to help these families experience a more enjoyable holiday in light of their hardships. Additionally, the club provides scholarships for both current and prospective college students of the community who meet certain guidelines. The scholarship money is provided by proceeds from the Ambassador Club Scholarship Golf Tournament, an annual event which raises thousands of dollars each year to help local students further their education. The Ambassador Club facility serves as a place for members to hold business meetings, host events, entertain, and socialize. In addition, the club functions as a place for private gatherings, such as wedding receptions, banquets and parties. In all, the Ambassador Club is a mixture of philanthropy and brotherhood, part charity and part fraternity. It was established over 75 years ago to provide a positive influence on the community in which it serves. And it has done so ever since.

General Info

With over 4,000 square feet of rental space, the Ambassador Club can accommodate a large number of guests for private functions. A number of wedding receptions are held at the club each year, as well as other private parties and banquets, for which the club can be rented. The standard rental rate is $1500 which includes full use of the hall, full use of the kitchen, tables and chairs, and all the ice you need. The dining hall consists of a large open area with hardwood floor in the center and carpet surrounding the perimeter. The hall can comfortably seat 150 people, and provides a good surface for dancing. The kitchen features commercial grade appliances, microwave, double oven, stove, 3-compartment sink, dishwasher and ice machine.
