Description

Exeter Barnfield Theatre is a purpose built theatre located in the heart of Exeter’s city centre. The building itself dates from 1890, when it was the home of the Exeter Literary Society, and has been variously occupied by the GPO, Civil Defence, the Tax Office and the Exeter Little Theatre Company. Now completely independent and run by a charity, today the theatre plays host to a wide variety of shows, conferences, Mother & Toddler groups, theatre schools and great music. We have a small but dedicated team of staff and volunteers who maintain the building, deliver brochures, serve drinks in the Barnfield Bar, serve snacks and ice creams, meet and greet, man the box office desk and telephone and work hard to make your visit to the Barnfield Theatre the most welcoming, friendly and entertaining experience it can be. How To Get to The Barnfield Theatre

BY CAR Barnfield Road can be reached from Southernhay Road or from Western Way. The nearest car parks are Magdelen Road Car Park, Magdelen Street Car Park (both open 24 Hours) and Princesshay 2 open until 11pm. All these car parks are free to park after 6pm. BY BUS There are regular buses to Exeter High Street and Bus Station. The theatre is only a short walk away from the High Street, walk down Princesshay with the Debenhams building on your left. Continue walking, crossing Southernhay road. The theatre is situated halfway down Barnfield Road on your right. From the Bus Station cross Paris Street and walk past the Civic Centre on your left. Walk past Southernhay Church on your left, continuing down to the end of the road, turning left onto Barnfield Road. The theatre is situated half way down on the right hand side. BY TRAIN From Exeter Central Station, turn left onto Queen Street, turn left to the High Street then follow the directions from Princesshay as above. There are also regular buses from Exeter St David's Station to the High Street.
