The Body Is Not An Apology is an international movement committed to cultivating global Radical Self Love and Body Empowerment. We believe that discrimination, social inequality, and injustice are manifestations of our inability to make peace with the body, our own and others. Through information dissemination, personal and social transformation projects and and community building, The Body is Not An Apology fosters global, radical, unapologetic self love which translates to radical human love and action in service toward a more just, equitable and compassionate world. VISION STATEMENT: We believe in the possibility of sustainable social change, community and personal health and wellness. We know such change must be built on a foundation of deep radical self love. We are an intersectional, global, difference celebrating movement where we know our age, race, size, gender, dis/ability, mental health status, sexual orientation etc are assets toward unapologetic radical self love and living. We know that each time we heal our shame, love our bodies and ourselves, step into our power we give someone else permission to do the same! Gamma Iota Chapter WHAT WE OFFER We offer lifelong bonds with people you will come to call your brothers. Above all, we support each other through the highs and the lows in all aspects of life. We offer company among ambitious and confident men who stand out and lead. We provide an excellent way to delve into a rich life at Berkeley with socials with sororities, brotherhood retreats, philanthropy events, club nights, sporting nights, and a whole lot more. We have intramural teams in basketball, soccer, football, dodgeball, softball, and volleyball. We live in a newly renovated house with 28 rooms and 48 brothers currently living in. Our brothers are diverse in their backgrounds and their studies - we are open to all who are charismatic and outgoing. Being apart of a fraternity is one of the most fun and rewarding experiences in college and life; ATO at UC Berkeley is one of the most prominent fraternity chapters and we hope to expand our group of friends.
