Cat cafés are starting to arrive in America after their huge popularity in Japan since 2004 and subsequent spread across Europe in 2013-14. We hope to open Minnesota's first cat café and bring this unique experience to Minneapolis. A cat café is a business that allows customers a café experience while mingling with cats. Because of codes and regulations, The Café Meow will be different from those in other parts of the world in that there are separate rooms for the café and cat playroom. Customers traditionally pay an hourly cover fee to spend time in the cat room. We hope to appeal to cat lovers, especially those who cannot have a cat of their own.
