The Canny Man’s is an Edinburgh institution established in 1871 and passed down through generations of the Kerr family. It is a free house, as free as the wind as Mr Kerr used to say, therefore it has no connection with any brewery and only sells the best of each brewers produce. The public house serves food everyday from 12-3pm and in the evenings from 6.30-9pm (except Fri/Sun nights). A snack menu is available till 5pm. The food that is served is seafood and S MØRREBRØD sandwiches. Introduced many years ago, it has been tailor-made to suit customers’ needs, and freshly prepared each day, it is ideal as a drinker's meal. A public house that is what this is, and it has survived as such for over one hundred years. Please try to remember it, and the characters you see here are real. It is well loved and well hated.
