Southern California's FIRST cat cafe, located in America's Finest city
Cat cafes started in Taiwan, and spread to Japan, where they're very popular. There are over 100 cat cafes in Japan. Since then, they've spread throughout the world. Le Cafe Des Chats, located in Paris, opened to a month long waiting list. Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium in London received so many reservation requests on the first day it opened that it crashed the server. Closer to San Diego, Kittea in San Francisco has received a tremendous amount of response to a crowd sourcing request. In the first day of the request, the venture received 20 percent of its requested funding. There's clearly a market for a cat cafe, and The Cat Cafe will be Southern California's first. Located in the Marina District of San Diego, The Cat Cafe will give residents, workers, and tourist a chance to enjoy coffee, tea, and light snacks while receiving the benefits of purr therapy.
The closest trolley stop is the Convention Center stop. From there, walk north on First to Island, take a right, and walk over to Third. The Cat Cafe is located at the corner of Third and Island.
