The Center is dedicated to providing rehabilitative and recreational activities for persons with mobility-, dexterity-, or sensory- disabilities. The Center was founded 1957 by the National Council for Jewish Women in the basement of Hillcrest Hospital, in an effort to allow those who were disabled and handicapped to have a social and recreational outlet. They realized that there were no services for handicapped individuals and most were considered home-bound and shut-in’s. Since then, The Center has enabled thousands of people with disabilities to increase their physical capabilities and celebrate their triumph
