Center for Visual Artists is a visual art 501(c)(3) non-profit located in the Greensboro Cultural Center at 200 N. Davie St., Box 13 Greensboro, NC 27401. VISION Through education and exhibition programs, the CVA builds and strengthens bonds within the Greensboro community and enables anyone at any skill level to engage and experience the arts. We believe that the visual arts can be used as a tool for personal and social development. Our program of work grows from our efforts to create opportunities for families to participate in the arts and local artists to share their talents with others. The CVA strives to foster the education of families through the visual arts and engage our diverse community. The desired outcome for our organization is to ensure that there are visual art offerings in Greensboro that are approachable, accessible, and affordable. HISTORY The Center for Visual Artists (CVA) is the merger of two long-standing Greensboro community visual arts agencies, The Center for Creative Arts (est. 1965) and the Greensboro Artists’ League (est. 1956). These organizations joined forces in 2005 to form a comprehensive art education center that encompasses both arts education and art exhibition. FUNDING The CVA is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 and funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro. Through patrons, members, and grant support the CVA continues to offer visual arts programming to the local community. Without the strong support of our members, volunteers, and the Greensboro community, our efforts would not be possible.
