The Chop Shop is a live entertainment facility located just outside of the heart of the NoDa arts district that is open only for booked events.

The Chop Shop is a Event Venue located "on the wrong side of the tracks" in NoDa (1) block off of N. Davidson on 35th St.) We do all types of events, so keep an eye on our website to see what is coming up that you want to check out! Chopshopnoda.com Age policy: We are a membership club so fill out a membership form when you arrive for the 1st time. Stop in a few days later and ask for your member card. You must be 21 to be a member. -------------------------Booking----------------------- Hints on getting booked: Email us! Go to our website (chopshopnoda.com) and click on the “contact” tab. Make sure you read our booking policy and please copy the booing request form. Contact booking via the link under “Contact” header. Have your audio and a video link available. We need to know what you sound like, look like, smell like... And stop in and see the place. You need to know what we are before you ask to play here. Know that we book events, not individual bands in most cases, so please have your event idea ready to submit. Accepting info from musicians/bands, artists, comedy groups, visual artists/performers, touring acts, crafts/trades folks and maybe more. It never hurts to ask! All 1st time band/artist/event requests need to include one or more of the following: Link to Audio/Video samples Link to Website Link to EPK if applicable Link to past events/performances in Charlotte or elsewhere DO NOT SEND: - requests addressed to no one and not to a specific venue and with no personal message. In other words, requests that look like spam as opposed to an intentionally directed inquiry. - a barrage of "spamlike" emails that will get your address into the SPAM folder, hence, never read again. An occasional friendly reminder goes much further than a shitpile of nagging reminders. - We deal with a lot of requests, as do most venues, so give it time, we will get to yours. An invite to a different Chop Shop event is a great time to support the venue and show that you are interested in more than your gig, as well as meet people who may put you on the top of the pile of requests. (like the booking agent, a bartender, a cool band or even the owner) Networking is a big thing in any industry, so stop by, introduce yourself, buy a drink and ask to talk to someone, it'll get you a lot further a lot faster. We request that bands/events do not book a show at another Charlotte venue within at least two weeks of your date at The Chop Shop; and we'd prefer a month or more. Also, understand that when events are booked it is for the purpose of bringing people to The Chop Shop that will purchase drinks. This is how we are able to keep the lights on. Otherwise you need to look at renting the venue as opposed to booking it. Out of town bands that have no Charlotte following need to try to contact some local bands directly. If a good local band has signed up to headline a show we are more likely to book the date. The internet is a great tool for connecting with these bands to trade shows. We rarely put these bills together, so unless you have extenuating circumstances, don't expect us to do so. After your show is booked, promote it! Tell everyone, make flyers and post them in the venue as well as everywhere else you can, post stuff on line in every forum that is applicable, promote, promote, promote!!!
