at 39 Northgate Street, Chester , CH1 2HQ
We've been a favourite rest-stop for visitors to Chester since 1840 and today we are still serious about eating, drinking and getting a good night's sleep.
Our food is made for eating. It is all prepared on the premises by our team of chefs, led by the skilled hands of our Head Chef, Matthew Scard-Jones. You will find nostalgic famililarity in our menu with no nonsense favourites like hand-battered fish & chips, pie of the day and even a salad special for those looking for something a little lighter. We like to think of ourselves as a little haven for foodies. What goes great with good food? A good drink. We have an ever-changing real Ale selection, a fantastic wine list with many by the glass and a thirst-quenching selection of softies. For those of you looking for a good cuppa, we've got that covered too. Once you've been fed and watered (and maybe had a little nap by our fire) you'll be looking for somewhere to rest your head. We have eight fabulous bedrooms too.
Bus exchange right outside, 15 minute walk from Chester Rail
