Having successful, consecutive seasons since 1988, The Company Dance Theatre continues its theatrical legacy through movement in Jamaica.

General Info

The Company Dance Theatre's repertoire includes, but is not limited to, the Horton and Graham techniques, contemporary ballet and modern jazz. Lester Horton (1906-1950) - the innovative Horton technique is a source of inspiration to countless modern dance choreographers and continues to train strong, versatile dancers, expanding the body’s traditional range of motion. The creator of the technique developed a training method that explores the many ways the body can move. Martha Graham (1984-1991) invented a new language of movement, and used it to reveal the passion, the rage and the ecstasy common to human experience. Graham's dance style is based upon contraction and release of the body.
