The hotel building previously housed 2 monasteries from the 13th & 14th centuries, plus a printing house. The hotel now has 148 rooms, including 11 Junior Suites, each with their own history and character. STORY The walls of the Convent Hotel house a rich history. Originally there were five premises behind the facade, which have in the past been home to two monasteries and the headquarters of Dutch newspaper 'De Tijd'. This illustrious past isevident in a number of details: the leaded glass windows, the replica of a 16th-century-Pieta discovered on the walls in 1985, a mosaic, paintings by artists from the Dutch School, an extensive collection of books. But whatever the building's past designations, serviceability and a genuine regard for the visitor remains its calling to this day.
