THE COURT YOUTH COMPANY is a training and performance company for young actors aged 16-21 years, and is based onsite at The Court Theatre, Christchurch. Members of YOUTH COMPANY will be encouraged to develop a professional practice in order to enhance personal growth and build required performance skills in: • Voice • Movement • Script/text analysis • Stagecraft • Research • Devising The program for YOUTH COMPANY will drive towards the practical application of these skills by working towards two public performances: • Classical text: a show based on working text and research from a classical script • Community project: a site-specific performance devised off-site As well as guiding the members through the craft of acting and theatre making, YOUTH COMPANY is interested in building the next generation of creative practitioners, from all cultural and social backgrounds, through nurturing skills in: • Leadership • Working in collaboration • Strong communication • Active listening and responsiveness THE COURT YOUTH COMPANY offers an opportunity for young actors to train and be exposed to high-quality theatre making, and to develop a distinguished theatrical vocabulary and focus. It provides a platform for developing new work by a young practicing community, and has the potential to assist members in going on to work and train in other reputable New Zealand institutes. The Canterbury Mini Owners Club has a membership of around 100. The club is based in Christchurch, however we have members from all over Canterbury, and run events in other centres. The club is open to anyone with an interest in Minis. The Canterbury Mini Owners Club has a membership of around 100. The club is based in Christchurch, however we have members from all over Canterbury, and run events in other centres. The club is open to anyone with an interest in Minis of any description, Classic or BMW. We meet at various times during the year for events. Some of the events run include trials around the local area, day or night, Grasskhanas, Track days at Ruapuna with the Mini 7 racers, Runs with other clubs around the Canterbury Area. Many events have a BBQ at some stage during the time. The emphasis in the club is not on competition, but on enjoyment, although on some events the competitive spirit does become evident. New members are always welcome, membership details can be found on the Members Page.
