The Discovery District

The Discovery District is bounded by I-670 (North), I-71 (East), I-70 (South) and Sixth Street (West). This area was coined the Discovery District in 1989 when Downtown property owners collaborated with Downtown Columbus, Inc. to propose a developmentplan designed to improve the eastern half of Downtown. The Discovery District is aptly named for its blend of arts organizations, institutions of higher education, churches and corporations.

Since 1966, Faith Mission has served the homeless community by offering a secure environment for homeless men and women on an emergency walk-in basis. Faith Mission is known by many as not only a place for a hot meal and a warm bed, but a haven of hope as well. The agency provides shelter, food and clothing, while helping individuals with access to longer term solutions such as housing, employment assistance, medical, dental and vision care, counseling and support groups.
