The Essential Animal was started to blend my desire to use essential oils for my pets and family and have a place to blog and provide information about essential oils, animal care and welfare and occasionally information on mindfulness and other topics that I find interesting. I have had dogs, cats and horses my entire life, usually in multiples. As I am writing my bio, I am surrounded by my four dogs and can hear my two cats chatting in the background. As I have been the guardian of so many companion animals over the years, I have noticed that they are generally happier and live longer with better foods and health care that includes traditional veterinary medicine and alternative options. The longer I am around, the more I am interested in alternative therapies to support the traditional care all of us receive. I am not a veterinarian, a medical professional, a certified aromatherapy consultant or any other licensed care provider. This is a blog about what I like to use and my thoughts about essential oils and on any care and wellness topics that catch my eye. Generally blogs will cover my opinions and things that have worked for me or my friends. I will always, always, always point someone in the direction of traditional veterinary options or medical care while suggesting an essential oils that may help with stress, calming, support or first aid.
