The Fatherless Daughter Reconciliation Project,a division of Esther Productions, Inc., is dedicated to healing girls and women growing up without fathers. The Fatherless Daughter Reconciliation Project is a division of Esther Productions, Inc., a national nonprofit organization that was the first to engage women and girls in a full exploration of the impact of father absence in their lives. Today, father absence is a central element in the personal and collective narrative of many girls and women growing up around the world. While the affect of father absence can have devastating consequences, The Fatherless Daughter Reconciliation Project is designed to mitigate associated issues; help daughters fully appreciate and value themselves; guide them to self-reconciliation; and, when desirable, reconnect them with their biological fathers. Those goals are achieved through the Gift: An Interactive Arts Healing and Reconciliation Experience and Daughters Circles.

Esther Productions Inc. In 2004, a cadre of civic-minded professionals led by award-winning journalist jonetta rose barras, author of "Whatever Happened to Daddy's Little Girl: The Impact of Fatherlessness on Black Women" assessed the local and national socio-economic landscape. They were particularly concerned about the plight of girls and women who were growing up or had grown up without the presence of their biological fathers. This group of practicing journalists, artists, managers and lawyers, with more than 50 years of community service, decided to address that pressing issue using their talents and expertise. Further, they sought to use their skills to positively affect the lives of people who live in underserved communities in the United States and Europe. Moreover, the group wanted to ensure its contributions have long-term effects, altering the quality of life for future generations. From that discussion, Esther Productions, Inc. was created. The nonprofit organization was formally incorporated in January 2005 under the laws of the District of Columbia as a charitable, educational, cultural, and social service organization. The Internal Revenue Service recognized it as a 501-C(3), tax-exempt corporation that same year. It is guided by a board of directors and operated by a team of professional managers.

Daughters Circle Esther Productions organizes by request Daughter Circles, a club/support group for young girls between the ages of 8 through 18. Participants often meet to discuss issues related to father absence but they also have fun, organizing and attending social and entertainment-related events together. The youth-led groups are facilitated by professionals associated with Esther Productions.
