Located under the railway bridge on St Andrews Street, Saltmarket, The Fish Plaice has been through many changes and many people have worked there over the years. Founded by John Gilmore who was an employee at the old fish market, John decided to start up on his own. John started the business while still working at the old market, until The Fish Plaice was doing enough to sustain itself. The Fish Plaice has been a landmark in Glasgow Cross for many years & has been through many changes. We want to help celebrate it’s experience and heritage during the Commonwealth Games by taking over the Courtyard of The Fish Plaice fishmongers to bring you The Fish Plaice Pop Up Seafood Kitchen & Bar selling all range of Scottish seafood & drink to the people of Glasgow, the UK and beyond from 18th July - 3rd August 2014. The Fish Plaice Pop Up Seafood Kitchen & Bar in the heart of the Merchant City & East End will be the perfect place to feel the pulse of Glasgow during the Commonwealth Games, experience Glasgow banter & enjoy fresh seafood as you’ve never had it before.
