***12th January 2013*** Two months ago some good friends decided to do it for themselves. They took on The Globe Inn and began a journey to create a quality suburban bar with cosy snugs, homely offerings and a warm welcome. Open from Friday 18th January, we welcome one and all to join us and stay for a while… Regular Blues, Folk & Acoustic nights coming soon, as is our Food Launch. Open: Monday to Thursday 5pm-11pm Friday & Saturday 12pm-12am Sunday 12pm-11pm www.globeinnexeter.co.uk *** 27th November 2012 *** Keys changed hands yesterday and we now have the reigns on this lovely old building. Expecting to be closed for a refurb for a few weeks but hoping to relaunch this side of Christmas for some mulled wine by the open the fire. watch this space.... A little about our plans: It is our aim to produce a little bar and restaurant in suburbia that has comfy sofas, open fires and a warm welcome with cosy snugs to sit and eat homely offerings. Subtly quirky and informal whilst taking inspiration from the beautiful Victorian building. We'll do our best to keep this page regularly updated with our progress on the paint job and relaunch date... In association with The Monkey Suit Bar & Venue, Exeter.

We're still buzzing here at The Globe from a wonderful weekend spent with John Bramwell. As a huge fan of I Am Kloot since the Natural History days, it was an absolute pleasure to welcome John to the pub and witness the musical spectacle that was Sunday nights show. Supports from Dave Fidler and Andy Watts-Music and a guest appearance from Wildwood Kin, made the evening extra incredible. We're thrilled to say that John and Dave will be back with Andy on 5th July to do it all over again. If you missed it this time, you can't miss it next time around.
So, it's the first day of a brand new year and we've all missed most of it recovering from last nights' party at The Globe. We drank lots, were very merry, partied with our friends and loved ones until the wee hours and saw out 2014 in style. We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make last night possible. Emily Howard - what a star you are for organising such a superb line up of very talented musicians. All you performers, you made the night very special indeed - thank you. To all our Globe family for giving up their New Year to work - we love you very much. And finally, to all of our very dear friends, old and new (and those absent), we loved seeing the New Year in with you; you make the hard work so worth while - cheers to you all Happy New Year. We'll see you soon for the next big bash - our 2nd birthday in a few weeks time! xxxx
Before the booze starts to flow and we open the doors to New Years', may we wish all of our Globe friends a very happy new year. 2014's been a good one and we're gonna see it out in style tonight. Come join the shennanigans and stay a while (no tix required). Much love xxx
Calling all musicians (bands/solo)... If you're looking for gigging slots, play your own original material and are obviously, pretty bloody good, get in touch coz we may be able to help you out x
So after the disruption of last weeks flooring saga, we're pretty much back to normal this week on the music front with Gypsy Jazz on Wednesday evening and open mic on Thursday with Emily Howard. P.S. happy belated holiday weekend everyone; we've been so busy eating eggs we forgot to message you all. x
