I see we have some new views, and I certainly appreciate that. I'm working towards the goal of getting this fancy trailer in the cover pic now. Had a great time last weekend working in a friends trailer at the Blue Dome Arts festival. Keep hanging in there with us, one day, soon!
For the newer folks to visit the page. Thanks for dropping by. We are working on a possible spring date. Stick around, we have fantastic eats and treats we've been working on in the mean time. Happy Holidays everyone!
Friends, there were a few things that happened this year in the local food truck industry. Namely one city counselor who owns brick and mortar restaurants(by HIS choice) who decided to try to change the food truck laws to suit his personal business needs. This in the long run did not fly because of his unethical approach. Along w/ that, about 25 trucks dove into the pool and the situation quickly became saturated w/ new. Now that's a good thing, dont' get me wrong. I just didn't think it was a good time to launch. I will wait a bit. Watch the others fade away after not filling the bill, and swoop in to save the day. Or something like that. I have not given up, just making a better business play at it.
We have not given up. A couple of business oriented hurdles to jump and lots of food testing being done in the meantime. Hoping everyone is having a great summer. Look for us this fall!
It appears one piece to the puzzle has been solved. Now on to the next! They don't make it easy to open one of these businesses I tell ya....
Playing with my own gluten free flour mix today. Will be testing the Goldies made with this mix and honey instead of sugar. We'll work on the dairy free part next round.
The chicken quinoa soup is delicious! Fresh shallots and herbs make everything better. Spent part of the day today writing some more recipes.
The Golden Road will be offering some pantry goods to take home and enjoy as well as freshly prepared foods made to order. We will feature a selection of jellies and jams, all are vegan, some will be sugar free(sweetened with honey), or low sugar. It's all in the pectin, and the brand we use is plant based. Just one way we can offer people a great product that fits their needs!
Our profile photo today is of our Goldies!! One of our signature desserts we'll be serving up. Beth and I tested these over and over and over again last night to ensure that you will not be sorry for ordering one. :) Now to adjust the recipe and make it gluten free and hopefully dairy and sugar free. I'm afraid on this recipe that the alternative honey might over power the true flavor of the lemon. We'll see what we end up with. The new cover photo is a pic of our trailer. We'll ours is being built but will look just like it with our logo and happy faces inside of course! Happy Easter friends!
I've written the recipes, we have the design for the trailer ready, going to check out equipment this week. It's looking like 6 weeks to 2 months to opening. We are testing recipes here at home for your enjoyment.
I couldn't be more excited to announce this new chapter in my life. The Golden Road Cafe, a food trailer. As someone who prefers to eat organically and gluten free as much as possible myself. I frequently find it difficult to find a good place to eat out. With a desire to stay spontaneous and free, I have decided to open a food trailer devoted to some great food that you would never know is gluten, dairy, meat, or sugar free. There is an option for all of these on the menu and you won't miss any of it! Follow me along this new road and please come out and enjoy a visit to dine w/ me!
