Description

The UK’s first holiday hotel designed exclusively for cancer patients and those with other life-threatening conditions, and their carers. Owned and operated by Macmillan Caring Locally, a local charitable trust based in nearby Christchurch, The Grove is situated in a prime location close to the resort’s sandy beaches, shops, restaurants and the town’s many tourist attractions. The hotel, which is non-profit making, has 30 beautifully-appointed bedrooms, including 17 standard and 13 superior rooms, all with en-suite facilities, internet access, direct dial telephone and LCD flat-screen TV. There’s also a licensed bar, lounges, a conservatory and beautifully landscaped gardens.

Do you have or have you had a cancer diagnosis? Do you have a life threatening illness? If you need a holiday or just a break why not join us. You can come and spend time with your family, friends, and carer or alone. Everyone is welcome. We are a unique hotel that provides that special holiday just when you need it the most. We are owned by the registered charity Macmillan Caring Locally. Our tariff is very reasonable as we are non-profit making. You can enjoy a couple of days or a couple of weeks. Eat delicious food prepared by our chefs to meet your dietary requirements. Have fun and make new friends. Visit local areas and beauty spots on our free coach trips. All of this secure in the knowledge that there is a nurse on duty for advice and support if you need one. Someone who understands the difficulties you may be having. All of our staff work really hard to ensure that you have a holiday to remember. Ξ 30 warm and comfortable bedrooms, all with private bathroom (17 Standard and 13 Superior). One bedroom is fully DDA compliant with remote control bed and recliner chair, and 2 more bedrooms have bathrooms that are DDA compliant and suitable for wheelchair access. All bedrooms have a direct dial telephone, internet access socket, emergency call button, LCD flat screen television with Freeview and radio, hospitality tray, a safe suitable for valuables and a laptop, hair dryer and luggage rack. Superior rooms also have refrigerators. Ξ All en-suite bathrooms (23 with showers and 8 with bath) have: emergency pull cords, heated towel rails, welcome toiletries, set of towels, and some have bathroom stools. Ξ Attractive comfortable lounges and a conservatory leading out onto small patio area and down to a beautifully landscaped secluded garden. Ξ Large restaurant with beautiful views overlooking the garden and an excellent menu with various diets catered for. Please advise us if you have a special occasion to celebrate during your stay. Ξ Lift services to all floors, with level entrance into the hotel. Ξ Private beach chalet for guest use. Ξ Residential License and bar. Ξ Private car parking in grounds (DDA parking for 2 cars). Ξ WiFi available. Ξ We offer free local coach trips to all guests. Days vary, but there are generally three trips per week in high season. Ξ A fleet of mobility scooters available for hire during your stay. Please reserve in advance. Private Parties The Grove has a purpose built function room for private parties and celebrations. This room can be used for a formal sit down meal, or more casually arranged for drinks and nibbles. The room has easy access to our stylish bar. Meetings and Conferences The Grove Function Room is ideal for meetings and conferences. The Function Room is a modern, comfortable room with large screen television for computer presentations. A range of audio visual equipment can be hired to suit your requirements.
