The Hair Mechanic grew out of a random conversation with a colleagues client. Apparently guys in the beauty industry don't always look like me. That client told me she loved that a guy that looked like me, in her opinion someone who looked like a mechanic, was such a skilled stylist. The rest, as they say, is history. I rolled with a snap comment, but for me -- it works! Thomas, The Hair Mechanic, as he has become known around these parts, currently divides his time between Kingston and Muskoka, but Kingston has quickly become a second home. Working in Kingston has added a new chapter to his 20-year career in the hair and beauty industry. Thomas began his training in Los Angeles at Vidal Sassoon in 1996 and has continued to train from California to Toronto and everywhere in between to stay current with the latest cut and colour techniques. He would like to thank John Donato for the opportunity to work with Milkshake and Label M on stage at the Toronto ABAs. Thomas’ passion is in colour and colour correction techniques. Like any artist, Thomas sees the world a little differently. Whether it is a fresh canvas or a fresh head of hair, it’s all about how you blend. Is that box dye? Don’t lie! As a master colourist, there isn’t a colour request Thomas can’t handle. He holds certificates in both the latest colour (Master Colourist: Wella/Redkin) and cut (Advanced Cutting: Label M, Tony & Guy) techniques. He’s the stylist who looks like he works at the local auto body shop, earning him the title of The Hair Mechanic. When not in the salon, Thomas can be found soaking up the sun on a local patio or dock with his dog RJ. In need of services -- don't hesitate to contact Thomas directly!
