Where are the elves when I need them? If I could only go to sleep and in the morning have everything done. Not enough time to get everything done. I guess that's the beauty of hand poured.
Tick tock, tick tock.....as the clock ticks down, we are now looking at the first set up day tomorrow at the Vancouver Christmas Market. It's here starting this Saturday!! As Kevin McCallister would say, "Don't get scared now." or "Another Christmas in the trenches." haha We do LOVE the Vancouver Christmas Market. It feels like home!
That golden moment when you realize that you have short changed yourself a week. A whole golden week of extra time for pouring!!! Yay! Not sure how but I missed a whole week in November. So MUCH going on! Anniversary in Winnipeg this Saturday, Vancouver Christmas Market starts next Saturday. We're getting ready!
If you're in Winnipeg, head down to the Johnston Terminal at The Forks this weekend for our 3rd Anniversary festivities! Free Red Velvet Cake pops and the Tree O' Fun at our shop and Grand Opening appetizers and coffee at Mabuhay Gift Shop right beside us. It's going to be a festive day!
Pallet of product arrived in Winnipeg today! That means lots of new stock to check out for all my Winnipeg peeps. Don't wait too long if you have some Must Haves in your life. We'll post more pics of what is there once it gets into mid week next week. And don't forget our 3rd Anniversary Special in Winnipeg Nov 15th. Will post more once Rememberance Day has past. And drove by the Vancouver Christmas Market site....they are building huts as we type....means it's coming up fast too! Stay tuned for promos and excitement in Vancouver as well!! So thankful that I have the freedom to go for my dreams!
Still in the trenches....will be so for the next 2 months. I don't think that will ever change and I LOVE the pressure and demand of getting it done mostly. They say that psychologically we, as humans, respond to timelines so.......we can either believe that or we can believe the statement, "oh I love deadlines and the noise they make as they go swishing by!" I believe I fall somewhere in between. Have a great day everyone!!
Just finished pouring Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Cheesecake and our latest (and really, really good) Sweet Potato Pie. It smells like Thanksgiving in a jar!! They are at Granville now, will be at Lonsdale Quay next week (we open Oct 1, 2014!!) and Winnipeg by the end of next week. Hurry out and grab yours before they are gone!
Exciting news! Of course you can find us at the Vancouver Christmas Market in downtown Vancouver this year from Nov 22 - Dec 24th ....join us for some Christmas Cheer. BUT.... You can also find us as of October 1st at Lonsdale Quay Market!! I know that alot of people are excited to hear about this one. It's a fantastic market place that reminds me of home. LOVE IT! OF COURSE... We're at The Forks at The Johnston Terminal as that's home base and the core of who we really are and our very first shop! LOVE Winnipeg! AND.. We're still at Granville Island and looking forward to a busy Christmas season there as well. Be sure to like us for updates on all of our events and goings on. There's alot and I'll be posting updates here and on our webpage to keep you all abreast of changes! Whoo Hoo!
You miss 100% of the shots you never take. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements in the next couple of weeks as we gear up for Christmas!!
Learning to keep my eye on the prize, my focus on my passion and work hard to make it all become reality. The wonderfulness of embracing the love and appreciation is that you are left exposed to the criticism of those who have not a clue what it means to work hard and create like I do. I am trying to learn the balance of posting photos so that they add to your delight rather than have them used against my vision. It is why you haven't seen alot of what is going on lately with our move and expansion. I wish I could share more so you could see and be dragged along for the ride as I know you love to see what is going on. As always, I 1000% appreciate your support and I'm looking forward to the day that this hurdle is crossed too and we can go back to postings as I normally want to do. I like to believe the world is a sunshiney place and am genuinely upset and hurt when I confront evil face to face. But fear not friends, love and peace and happiness is on my side and I will prevail....always!
Remember the days when I used to post pics of new products....well.....they are coming back. Not quite there yet but starting to get a handle on things. New "owl" candles will be ready shortly and I'm looking forward to sharing photos with you. p.s. So grateful to be busy beyond words....it means that everyone is loving us!! Thank you all!
It's been a busy morning.....Christmas ordering getting done! Yup, we have to finish ordering this week for delivery in July for production ready for November to be ready for the holidays. And the planning really started in January. Ho, ho, ho!
Just for those who love us so that you are in the know....I have placed an ad on Craigslist in Vancouver for a couple of part time retail sales positions with our shop here on Granville Island. If you are interested or know anyone who is looking, please get them to email me their resume....firstname.lastname@example.org. We always have more success hiring people who already know and love our products! Thanks for the help!
Apparently I have to have some white wine in my future. Peeps are loving my Night in Paris (the Chardonnay wine blend with some Amber and coffee) but requesting a white wine scent. Now what to blend my white with to make it special? I'll keep you posted!! Comments and ideas are always welcome....you never know where inspiration comes from.
Wonder what is new at the shop today? Well.....it's Chocolate Bacon in a candle. I've test burnt and it throws really well. It's kind of like a savory chocolate (not a sweet chocolate) kind of scent. It's in the shop in Vancouver and will be in Winnipeg by the end of this week. Head down to give it a sniff and a review!
So much love over the past couple of days! We really do have the BEST customers who have become friends. It's amazing and thank you and hugs to you all!!
A happy customer comes in to the shop today and gives the most unique testimonial ever! ~ These woodwick candles are great to add to a family meal ritual in that everyone sits at the table, we light the candle and we all wait quietly together until we all hear it. ~ What a great idea!! Helping families achieve their peaceful and zen moments. Love it!!
Had the BEST conversation yesterday at the Granville Public Market. Picking up some tasty chocolate and tell the fellow about my candles on the Island. The one like Rootbeer is amazing, the Crackling Firewood, etc. etc. is what I say. He says, "Well honey, there's nothing better than MY candle shop! It's based out of the Forks in Winnipeg." Hahaha. I say, "That's us!!! We're here!" He says, "That is so great! I was just about ready to give you a lesson on where to get the best candles ever!" LOVE IT!
Don't worry....I'm still here. Working hard and planning for the busy upcoming season. It feels less like taking over the world when it is based upon our current reality. Life is funny like that.
