The Irish Guards will be joined by the French Army in providing a Guard of Honour during todays Somme 100 Commemorative event in Thiepval, France.

The national service commemorating the centenary of the Somme will take place at Westminster Abbey tonight at 8pm. You can join the service on BBC2 from 7.30pm.
If you are in London this evening, come to the Guards Chapel for a free concert by The Countess of Wessex's String Orchestra. Programme starts at 7.30pm. The CWSO is named after the Corps of Army Music's Colonel-In Chief and whose public duties include providing musical support to Investitures and State Banquets at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. Don't miss this wonderful free concert by the CWSO.

Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh has just completed a two-day visit to Northern Ireland. During their visit their Royal Highness's unveiled a statue to Bushmills man and Victoria Cross winner Robert Quigg. On parade were, The Irish Guards as the Guard of Honour, the Regimental Band of the Irish Guards, Drums and Pipes of the Irish Guards and the Irish Guards mascot Irish Wolf Hound 'Domhnall' .
