The Pacific Northwest is known for their juicy huckleberries just as Chef/ Owners James and Courtney Drinkward are known for their love of the fruit. The Huckleberry has played a defining role in their families for generations. From taking day trips to Mt. Hood to forage for these little guys, to their Grandpa never missing an opportunity to stop an unsuspecting waitress to inquire if Huckleberry Pie was featured on their restaurant’s menu; the berries have consistently represented a sense of family and home. This is exactly what Huckleberry Pub is all about, and why Courtney and James have shared their vision in the heart of the Northwest’s most vibrant neighborhood. We refer to the items on our extensive menu as Northwest Soul Food, Traditional American-style comfort food taken to a whole new level. Our focus is on fresh, local, seasonal ingredients, and as often as possible, house-made. Pickles, breads, smoked meats, cheeses, huckleberry compote and pastas are prominent among these. Our main dining room is food-focused and wholly family friendly (we offer fresh and healthy alternatives to the typical French fries and chicken fingers to your little ones…) If you're seeking a more casual, adult atmosphere, the bar is conveniently located on the second floor in our upstairs lounge. Here you can enjoy a cold beer, a local glass of Pinot, or a carefully crafted libation shaken by some of the best bartenders in Portland. You can also catch a game from one of our big screens or have a good ol’ fashioned conversation with your neighbor. We are open during the week for Happy Hour (3:00-5:30 daily) and Dinner (3:00-10:00 M-F, 2:00-10:00 Sat-Sun). Make sure to stop in on Saturday or Sunday for Brunch, from 9:00 to 2:00 as well!
