Description
The Improv Shop aims to create original, dynamic and fun shows using the tools of Chicago-style improv. Its training program is the only multi-level program of its kind in the city and is accessible to students of all ability and skill levels. Improv training is a powerful and necessary tool for the working actor, a fun way to become a more confident public speaker, and an exciting means of self-expression.

General Info
CLASSES Five course levels - Introduction to Long-Form Improvisation, Scenework, Harold, Survey of Performance Forms, and Performance - are offered in eight-week sessions throughout the year. Two hour classes are held once per week during each session. Tuition for each course level is $195. Discounts are available for full-time college students and early registrants. SHOWS We currently run two shows a week: The Lab on Mondays @ 8:00pm is the improviser's night of improv. Focusing on experimentation and community-building, we confidently put forth the hypothesis that students and veterans, given a chance to play together, will create a combustible and explosive product of funsies. Harold Night on Thursdays @ 8:00pm features Improv Shop Harold Teams presenting the signature longform improv piece, Harold! These teams consist of graduates from our training center.
