Irish American Theater Company of Cincinnati Columbia Tusculum returns from International Theater Festival Great experiences and Kudos at the Acting Irish InternationalTheater Festival with Dancing at Lughnasa! Brian Friel's award winning play proved to delight audiences as well as the adjudicator at the Acting Irish International Theater Festival held at Gaelic Park Chicago this past week. Mick McEvilley's dynamic performance as Father Jack who had "gone native" received the nomination for the Best Supporting Actor! Great work Mick!! The Behind the Scenes crew also are acknowledged with the "Adjudicators Award for Excellence". This award goes to the many volunteers who dedicated their time and talent to make our show the success it has been. Director Maureen A. Kennedy, Stage manager Sara Marschall, Technical Director Jim Hunt, Costumer Pagatha Eddingfield, Producer Kent Covey, Props Mistress Kate Lester....Plus to the following are part of this award bring recognized and thanked for the support and help; Mary White, Patti Minniear, Cynthia Matyi, Joe Corcoran, Margaret McGurk, Bob Armott, Dan Murphy, Frank Shea, Ken Slaughter, Kistomer Climer, Mark Sweeney, Katelyn Groh, William Cahill, Bill Williams, Wally Desmond, Ceol Mhor, Silver Arm, Mike Smyth, Frank Shea, Charlie Lester, Pru Hunt, Terry and Dianne Glenn, Anthony DeGregorio, Terri Bertke, Scott, Baker. The Actors and crew were given high praise from the adjudicator Brad Armacost during his private adjudication of our Theater Company including; "Well Done, it moved me--" to our Director (this acknowledgment includes all of the Company). As for individual performances, "Bravo" for our Michael, "Marvelous" for our Maggie, "Vivid Pictures" to our Rose, "Heartbreaking" to our Aggie, "Just great" to our Michael, "Magnificent" to our Kate, "You made me cry again" to our Father Jack, "Lights and Sound were excellent" to our Technical Director. All in all it was a great experience for all giving our company a place to perform with high caliber community theater in an international competition. Thru this festival we keep the stories and people of Ireland coming to life, as well as providing us with an important training venue for excellence. Plus we are giving all who are aspiring to move up to the professional ranks the growing platform to do so. We want to thank all our theater goers over the years, all who have helped us with Ads, our friends & families, know we could not do all this without your dedication and support to our efforts. Thank you many times over! Acting Irish International Theater Festival will be hosted by Cincinnati in the Spring of 2015. We will be starting preparations in the fall of 2013.
