Since opening in Leith in 2006 by husband and wife team Tom and Michaela, the restaurant has been attracting diners from across the world with its modern, fresh and ever evolving menus that take guests on a journey through Scotland and the seasons. The restaurant’s philosophy ‘From Nature to Plate’, is a true reflection of Tom’s deep-rooted passion for the finest, freshest Scottish seasonal produce which arrives at the restaurant daily, straight from Scotland’s land and sea. Located in an old whisky bonded warehouse, the restaurant interior is stylish and welcoming. The restaurant presents a tribute to its Scottish heritage and blends Scottish and Scandinavian design with a unique mix of modern furs, fabrics, tweeds, textures and tartans. The Kitchin offers a number of menu options including the Chef’s Celebration of the Season, Surprise Tasting Menu and Set Lunch that present the very best Scottish ingredients from a range of local suppliers, expertly demonstrating Tom’s commitment to working with the seasons. The restaurant was completely refurbished in 2015 when acquiring the neighbouring restaurant Chop Chop’s premises to allow for an expansion of The Kitchin restaurant. The Kitchin also provides private dining experiences and can accommodate parties up to 20 guests in the private room and on an exclusive basis for up to 80 guests.

Michelin-starred restaurant The Kitchin opened in 2006 by husband and wife team Tom & Michaela Kitchin on Edinburgh’s Leith waterfront. The Kitchin’s philosophy ‘From Nature to Plate’, is a true reflection of Tom’s passion for the finest, freshest Scottish seasonal produce and the cooking at the restaurant reflects Tom’s training under some of the world’s best chefs blended with his own Scottish heritage.
