The preschool and kindergarten program is the longest accredited early childhood program in central Pennsylvania by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs (NAEYC). At 9:30 this morning we noticed smoke coming from a light fixture in the downstairs lobby. We evacuated the building and alerted the fire department. All children are safe and accounted for. No fire was found in the building. The fire department cleared us to return to the preschool wing of the building, so big and little friends are enjoying each other's company in preschool classrooms. Children do not need to be picked up, but if you are coming for preschool pick up or choose to pick up your child, the fire department is asking that you wait until 11:00. They need to clear their equipment from the road and our parking lot. We will continue to keep you posted as we receive information from the fire department.

Dear Londonderry Community, The Search Committee for a new director for Londonderry has already been at work, holding focus groups moderated by Monica Knopf of Keystone Human Services to help define the qualities we are seeking in a new director. In the past two months, there has been a session with Rhoda, with the Board- Search Committee-Long Range Planning group, 2 staff sessions, 2 parent/alumni sessions, and a student session with older students. The Search Committee would like to give our greater community one more opportunity to provide input, for those who may have been unable to thus far. Below is the list of questions posed at the sessions. Please send a response to any question(s) you choose and any comments to the search committee at firstname.lastname@example.org The deadline for responding is June 27.
