We are a "Whole-Way House" to 450+ women & children In October of 2004, the first 7 Julia Tutwiler Prison inmates entered Brenda Lovelady Spahn's home to learn to live a new life and never return to criminal lifestyles. Along with her daughter Melinda, Brenda created this faith-based program which is now called The Lovelady Center, named for Brenda's beloved father. We are now located in a renovated hospital in South East Lake, serving over 450+ women and children in a 9-12 month residential program. 95% of our staff consists of program graduates. Empowering women, through faith-based initiatives, so they can return to society as well equipped women of God. The program is about empowerment, hope, and a belief in the value of each and every human life. It is our mission to help women rebuild their lives and walk forward with faith-driven hope for a future as a contributing member of our community. TLC ensures each woman is taught how to overcome barriers to success by providing access to needed services. You can give a person shelter, food and clothing, but if they cannot support themselves, the cycle of poverty and incarceration will not be broken.
