what is ultrasound fat cavitation Ultrasound cavitation is the new beauty treatment that replaces liposuction without going through the operating room. Technological advances in medicine have made it possible to use low-frequency ultrasound for localized fat reduction. Usually an ultrasonic frequency of 1MHz to .5MHz is used for various medical treatments. It is highly penetrative and directional. The vibration of ion (positive and negative alternation of sound waves) produces a strong wave of pressure to fat cell membranes. Usually a fat cell membrane cannot withstand this pressure. It will explode into the liquid content. How Does Ultrasound Cavitation Work? The ultrasound energy selectively targets fat cells in specific problem areas, such as the abdomen or thighs, and safely disrupts the membranes of the unwanted cells without affecting surrounding tissues such as nerves or blood vessels. By disrupting the fat cell membrane, the contents of the fat cell (primarily comprised of Triclycerides) is liquefied and dispersed into the intercellular fluid, which is then eliminated through the lymphatic and urinary system. At The lux beauty we utilize the latest Ultrasound and Radio Frequency technologies to precisely target the stubborn fat that you want to lose, smooth out cellulite, and rejuvenate your skin.
What To Expect From Ultrasound & Radio Frequency Treatment We want people to know exactly what to expect from an Ultrasound and Radio Frequency (RF) session. Let us be clear – this is not a miracle device that will strip away huge layers of built up fat in a single session. Ultrasound and RF is not for obese or seriously overweight people; and it is not practical or economical to use it as such. In our experience with Ultrasound and RF, we have found that we can safely remove enough fat from a concentrated area that it can easily be marked by using a tape measure. Such as if a male for example, who is carrying some excess weight around his abdomen, is having a treatment done, he can expect a measurable result – usually after the first treatment. We liken the type of result to a slightly overweight person who would commit to one week of good diet and exercise. Now, one week of good diet and exercise would deliver a measurable reduction that is not necessarily noticeable. Please don’t expect that after one session, like just one week of good diet and exercise, your friends will observe that you are slimmer. That said, with six continual weeks of diet and exercise it very well may be noticeable, or the weight loss could be even quite obvious. Such as with Ultrasound and RF, one session a week on the same area for six consecutive weeks, we believe you will notice a similar result. So, it is up to you . . . what would you rather do? Would you rather have a one-hour treatment while you lay out and relax, or would you rather make sure you have a good diet and exercise regularly? The answer is both! Although we believe Ultrasound and RF is a more permanent form of weight loss (because we destroy the cells in which the fat reside), we still encourage our clients to eat healthily and exercise regularly. The procedures will work without diet or exercise, but you can greatly “enhance your results” by improving your diet and exercising. Also, water is extremely important to aid the body in elimination. Those clients who have had the best results follow these recommendations. Those who have had poorer results have usually done nothing to help the process – either they did not drink enough water, they did not exercise at all, or they had very poor eating habits. We have found that Ultrasound and Radio Frequency is ideal for the age-old problem of ‘spot reduction’. It has always been said that if you want to reduce fat from a single spot, or two spots from your body such as your thighs, then you have to lose weight all over your body. This has been true … but now we believe we can successfully reduce fat from those stubborn parts of your body we all seem to have.
RF Fat Reduction One of the newest fat reduction technologies is radiofrequency. Radio Frequency delivers energy to the areas of fat by driving controlled heat deep within the fat cells and subsequently destroys them. Radiofrequency is a very versatile procedure that can be used on any area of the body – from large areas like the abdomen to very small areas such as the chin – with the same degree of success. It uses sound waves to vibrate and cause mechanical disruption of fat cells causing them to break down. Another benefit of radiofrequency is its ability to reduce both fat and tighten the skin by directing energy to target collagen especially when diet and exercise has failed. Radio Frequency is also ideal for the age-old problem of spot reduction. The treatment program is designed to improve body shape and reduce unwanted fat from areas such as face and neck, upper arms, abdomen, thighs, buttocks, hips, knees, calves, ankles and male breasts. It is actually not a weight loss procedure but it’s very effective in tightening skin and reducing fat and cellulite in areas that just do not respond to traditional weight reduction methods and also change that you may have acquired hereditary in regards to your proportion. It’s usually performed using a combination of Bipolar and Unipolar radio frequency on the area to be treated which is heated to a therapeutic temperature range. A number of passes are performed over the area, maintaining an optimum and predetermined temperature range. This process commences the breakdown and removal of intra cellular waste and unwanted fat from specific and treated areas of the body. Radio Frequency procedure done to the human body conducts current and therefore act as part of the electrical circuit, any resistance encountered by the energy flow will cause heat to be produced at the site of maximum resistance, which can be used to cut or coagulate tissue. Treatment areas are mapped out to recontour your shape, aided by accurate photographic record and measurements at each step in the process. The treatment usually takes 15 to 60 minutes. Since each person’s pain tolerance and threshold varies, it is difficult to quantify how painful or uncomfortable the treatment is. It also depends on the device used and the power settings for the treatment. The procedures will work without diet or exercise, but you can greatly enhance your results by improving your diet and exercising. Also, water is extremely important to aid the body in elimination. Those clients who have had the best results basically follow these recommendations. Radio Frequency is an effective, a new and promising technology for non-surgical body contouring and fat reduction. Most patients usually experience mild redness which disappears quickly and also a mild improvement in their skin tone and smoothness, with a reduction in the appearance of fat and possible inch loss. It is also associated with minimal risks and downtime compared to surgery. However, you may be advised to use certain soothing lotions, creams or gels to lightly apply to the treatment area, or possibly cool, moisturizing mists to apply as you feel necessary.
Nonsurgical Skin Tightening Also known as laser skin tightening or ultrasound skin tightening Skin tightening procedures have become very popular in recent years because they provide a nonsurgical alternative to more invasive procedures for correcting skin laxity and improving skin quality. Today your plastic surgeon can choose among a number of different devices and technologies that provide noninvasive skin tightening solutions. When to Consider Nonsurgical Skin Tightening If you have mild to moderate loose skin on your face, neck, arms or abdomen If you have residual skin laxity after an operative procedure If you would like an improvement in the quality of your skin If you are unable (or unwilling) to undergo a more invasive, surgical procedure to correct skin laxity Related Procedures Many people who consider nonsurgical skin tightening also consider laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels and facelift. PROS A noninvasive, nonsurgical technique that tightens facial or body skin Performed with no incisions, minimal discomfort and little to no downtime May be used for all skin types CONS Results are less extensive and dramatic than those obtained with a facelift or body contouring procedures Multiple treatments are usually needed for optimal results Skin redness, temporary swelling or numbness or volume loss around the treated area may occur These are the top three pros and cons to weigh when considering nonsurgical skin tightening. Am I a good candidate for a nonsurgical skin tightening? The following are some common reasons why you may want to consider nonsurgical skin tightening: You have mild to moderate loose skin on your face, neck, arms and abdomen You have residual skin laxity after an operative procedure You would like an improvement in the quality of your skin You are unable (or unwilling) to undergo a more invasive surgical procedure to correct skin laxity Multiple treatments are usually required for maximum benefit.
Eyelash Enhancement or Eyelash extension..Also known as eyelash lengthening The eyes are a focal point of the face. Studies show that long eyelashes and large eyes are considered a sign of youth and beauty. Fuller and longer lashes will emphasize and frame your eyes, giving you a more refreshed, awake or feminine look without the need for mascara, false eyelashes or eyelash extensions. Fuller lashes also provide more protection for your eyes, shielding them from tiny particles in the air that cause irritation. When to Consider Eyelash Enhancement If you have sparse, thin or nonexistent eyelashes If you commonly experience eye discomfort or irritation from small particles of dirt or debris in the air If you often use false lashes or eyelash extensions. Considerations PROS Longer, thicker eyelashes can help you achieve a more youthful and healthy look You can use an eyelash-enhancing product, regardless of the quantity or quality of your eyelashes You can see new hair growth as well as longer, thicker eyelashes in a relatively short period of approximately two months CONS Some products can cause discoloration or irritation The prescription strength of Latisse has fast results but may have slightly more side effects than non-prescription products For eyeglass wearers, the addition of length to the eyelashes may result in scraping of your lashes along the inside of the lenses
Cellulite Treatment Also known as cellulite reduction Cellulite is normal fat just beneath the skin that causes irregular undulations and flaccidity (lack of youthful firmness) in the skin because it pushes against connective tissue. Various treatments are available to treat cellulite, but most have only temporary results because they do not target the anatomic structures of cellulite. The newest treatment that appears to have lasting results is the Nd:YAG 1440 nm wavelength laser. When to Consider Cellulite Treatment If your skin has a puckered appearance at areas of fat accumulation that disturbs you. If you are not significantly overweight, but have moderate cellulite on your thighs, buttocks and/or hips. If you have light-colored skin, on which cellulite tends to be more noticeable. If you have tried various creams, massages or injectables and have seen no improvement. Considerations Pros Treatment improves the appearance of dimpled cellulite tissues. Skin thickness and elasticity are increased. Results last one year or more. Cons Side effects include bruising, swelling, numbness and mild discomfort. With Cellulaze there is a possibility of fluid leakage from incision sites. This nonsurgical treatment is relatively new to the market and can be costly. These are the top three pros and cons to weigh when considering cellulite treatment. If you wish to focus on what is unique to you, please consult with your aesthetic plastic surgeon.
