The aim of the Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford is to improve the quality of public debates on migration and immigration by providing accessible data and analysis, allowing everyone to engage with and understand these often highly complex issues. Our work focuses on the UK, but is set in an international context. The Observatory does not advocate for particular policy outcomes, but instead works to analyse data and critique all sides of the debate on migration to help ensure that our users are able to develop a detailed grasp of migration issues affecting the UK, understand the trade-offs involved in various responses to migration challenges and to develop their positions based on evidence rather than assertion. We are based at the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) at the University of Oxford. Informing debates on international migration and public policy.
