Hi, So Personal. is the best source for everything personal and relatable. Relatable pictures and quotes. We don't claim anything here.

Yesterday was a difficult day for doctors and patients as several patients were diagnosed with cancer. Pray for them and their families as we seek affordable treatment plans and programs.

A couple months ago, a man was forced to check into an ER with a blood sugar of 1200 (yes, it is possible). He had Diabetes, but no insurance to manage his care or educate him on a proper diet. Normally, when someone's blood sugar reaches that level, they need insulin for the rest of their life. As a bus driver, he would not be allowed to work as long as he needed insulin to sustain his health. He heard about a clinic for uninsured patients and made his way here. The other day, our Medical Director was walking down a sidewalk to be honked at by a bus. Driving the bus, was the patient who had just been cleared to work again and wanted to say hi to his new doctor. Praise God for His mercies and gift of healthcare: Restoring Health, Restoring Lives.
We are in need of an Ultrasound Tech to volunteer. If you are an Ultrasound Tech and would like to volunteer on an ongoing basis, please call the volunteer line at 602-258-6008 x113.
The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Most people are unaware of the fact that the state of Arizona permits taxpayers to redirect a portion of our tax dollars to a qualifying charity, thus allowing you to give to charitable organizations out of the tax dollars that you already paid or will pay! Would you help The Clinic in this way today? Click to give on our web site @ http://www.thechristianclinic.org/donate/
[Great Story] A man walked into the afternoon clinic today for his first visit. He has Cirrhosis of the liver brought on by many years of alcohol abuse. A month ago, his wife and children left him as a result of his alcoholism. He went to a retreat the following weekend and had a radical experience with God and prayed to make Jesus Christ his Lord. As part of the stipulations his wife gave for returning with the children, he had to become a patient of The Neighborhood Christian Clinic. They heard patients of the Clinic would not just be treated for their medical illness, but for their soul as well. How blessed we are to partner with this husband and father with the goal to restore his health and restore his life. The reputation of the Clinic in our community is not a result of man's work, but God's.
Help Needed! Our Staff Dental Assistant was in a car accident this morning. She is doing well, but may have broken her foot. [Great Story] Two weeks ago a discouraged teenager walked into the clinic complaining of vision loss. She had been to numerous doctors prior to us and they had not been able to determine why she had lost 90% of her sight. The doctor informed her he would refer her to a volunteer specialist, but could promise nothing as, indeed, the cause of her vision loss was quite a mystery. He then asked if he could pray for her eyes, because God is in the business of miraculous healing even when medicine cannot explain the ailment. She came in again today for her follow up grinning from ear to ear. Her vision is 90% restored and the specialist hadn't even started a treatment plan. "No doctor has ever offered to pray for me before," she said. Sometimes it is not about persistence, intelligence, or training. Sometimes, we need to step aside and let God prescribe His own treatment plan. 'Like' if you believe God is the Great Physician!
If you are an RN, currently a registered volunteer, we need another nurse for the Monday morning shift next week. We have four providers that morning and are short on nurses. Please put yourself on the schedule soon. Thank you!
[Great Story] Almost two years ago a woman was admitted to the Clinic and seen by one of our volunteer doctors. She and her husband had been trying to have a baby for 14 years and had been unsuccessful. The volunteer doctor prayed for her and referred her to an off-site volunteer specialized in infertility. They went through the long process of In Vitro Fertilization in March, but tragically lost the baby two months later. Yesterday the couple came back to the Clinic with her complaining of stomach pains and morning sickness. She is PREGNANT. After 16 years of infertility God has answered her prayer and opened her womb. Please keep this couple and their baby in your fervent prayers. Folks, the Clinic can do everything medically possible to help this couple, but we can't open a closed womb. Instead, we got to sit back and watch God do His thing: Restoring Health and Restoring Lives.
We had a very productive afternoon today. We were able to see all eight walk-ins this afternoon. Walk-ins are patients without appointments. It is very difficult to see all walk-ins because we do not always have the capacity to see more patients than we schedule. Praise God.
Thank you to our volunteer doctors for the day! Doctors Griggs, LeStourgeon, and Lahti made a great different today.
Thank you to Lisa Kill, FNP and Dr. Robert Comp, Pulmonology for their volunteer service today!
Did you know you can donate up to $200 to TNCC ($400 if married) and get it all back from the state? The Working Poor Tax Credit allows individuals to dictate where a certain amount of their tax dollars go. It is a great way to give without really losing money. [Disclaimer] You must owe the tax to take advantage of the Tax Credit.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped address envelopes last week. We addressed over 3,000 envelopes sending invitations for our 15th Anniversary event on October 2nd.
[Story Update] We just received word the hospital has accepted the surgeon's plea to admit the patient (see story below)! They have allowed the surgeon to perform the surgery at their facility and for the patient to be admitted to the hospital for his recovery. This is at least a $36,000 procedure and is now being given to the patient because of the advocacy of one volunteer. Praise God for this incredible and swift answer to prayer.
[Active Story] Three days ago, one of our elderly patients came to see the doctor complaining of severe stomach pain. We were able to refer him to a Colon/Rectal Surgeon volunteering from his own practice, who diagnosed him with Colon Cancer. The patient was devastated as he had just lost his wife six months prior and has no insurance or the cash to receive the surgery he needed. The Clinic has set to work praying for God’s intervention for this patient. Yesterday, one of our staff RN’s secured the CAT scan for him at a hospital for only $300 ($700 value). He needs a life-saving, but expensive surgery only a hospital can provide. We heard today the Colon/Rectal surgeon is volunteering his hands and is attempting to get a hospital to host the patient FREE of charge. Please pray for the advocacy of the surgeon and that the necessary administrators respond to his heart. The patient must have this surgery in the next few days to even be eligible for chemotherapy.
A shout out to our volunteer doctors for the day! Dr. Griggs, Dr. Lahti, and Dr. Davis are giving their time today and are the reason our organization can exist and carry out its mission. Thank you!
The July Open House has kicked off with several prospective volunteers in attendance. We are always excited to meet new folks looking to partner with us in God's great work here.
Open House tomorrow! Please RSVP to the event (to the left and scroll down) and attend to find out more about the mission of the Clinic and the volunteer experience from the personal testimony of medical and dental staff.
