General Info

We’re a flexible club offering an informal night’s backgammon that is tailored to suit all levels of ability. Our approach is fun and learning without the strictures of competitive play. Mind you, that doesn’t mean that games or matches aren’t hard fought, they are. It’s just that we favour a multi-element variety of play; thus ensuring everyone is catered for and each evening contains differing events to suit those present. Players of all levels are welcome to come and play with us every Thursday night @ 7.30 until 11.00 throughout the year (excepting Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) at the Lincoln Hospital Club, St Anne’s Road, Lincoln. Busy night last night: 7-point knockout, chouette and money games. It's a much better format than an annual championship regime. Very enjoyable.

Good night last night. Three chouettes and a 7-point Knockout! It's good to see Brain Barber and Stephen Drake back playing backgammon. If anyone fancies a game or two, drop by on a Thursday evening and join us.

Had a good time at the club last Thursday. I had a great time winning the Single/oDouble event. In the time we've been reformed into the new club there hasn't been one night at which we didn't have some great matches playing a very wide variety of different formats. For the first time in years members (and casual guests) have been able to really enjoy a good night's backgammon.

A good night last night. Played a round of Single-Doubles and it ended in a draw - so next time it's double the stakes! Great format. Great club.

Another good night last night. Tim got the better of Brian in the final of last week's 7-pointer; and he beat me in the final of this week's 11-point KO! The non-championship casual format is working very well. Being able to cater for occasional players means that when they attend they get to play meaningful matches. So, if you fancy a game or two, pop in and see us any Thursday evening.
