Hey all! 2014 is coming to an end and we at The North End Basket are looking forward to 2015. We WILL be back in full swing again (unfortunately no eggs as of yet, but working on it!) with more options and we can't wait to get back to work. We apologize to all of our loyal customers for keeping you in limbo, however we had to work a few things out to be the BEST in 2015. We hope to see you all very soon and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Looking forward to 2015!
Hi everyone!!! As most of you know, we had some unfortunate luck this summer due to some serious illness in our family. Our farm suffered and we didn't get to finish/provide our customers with all the produce we grew and other foods and we sincerely apologize for that. On that note, we no longer have the hens (see previous post) for the winter. Therefore, we have no eggs to sell until further notice. On a more positive note, the kitchen is back open and up and running! We plan to have this open all through the winter months, to help prepare for spring/summer and more gardening. We will still offer all of the same items as before, BUT we have also revamped the menu with more items! Soups, Jerky, dehydrated snacks and much more! So stay tuned in the next day or so as the new items will be posted. Again, we can't thank you enough for all your support and we look forward to interacting with you all again :)
Dear Egg Friends, I have some sad news today. We have sold the remaining hens to a farmer who also lives in Lunenburg County this past weekend. My mom was caring for all the animals over the past 4 months (since Grampie had his stroke) and it just became too much for her. She was able to sell one coop to a farmer close to Mahone Bay and then rest to a local farmer closer to where they live. It's with great sadness that I therefore inform you all that Grampie's Eggs have come to an end. I hope you will all find a good local/free range farmer to get your eggs from. I know there are some great ones. The hen farm really kept my Grandfather going and brought a great deal of happiness to him over the years. Thank you all so much for supporting Grampie's Eggs. Warm Regards, Anneka PS Please stay tuned for an update from North End Basket goodies :)
