Located at 233 Fifth Avenue North, The Rymer Gallery is one of the largest contemporary galleries in the heart of Nashville’s rapidly expanding arts district. Under careful direction of owner Jeff Rymer, the gallery ultimately seeks to continue the legacy endowed by The Betty Rymer Gallery at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, by supporting the best of what the contemporary art world has to offer. In addition to the cutting-edge 3,000 square foot location, there is an annex gallery and artist studio located only a few block away, on Third Avenue. The studio/annex was previously located next door to Tennessee’s only 5-star hotel, The Hermitage. As a result, The Rymer Gallery has been fortunate enough to cultivate a longstanding relationship with The Hermitage, for which we continue to remain very grateful. In keeping with Nashville's contemporary creative climate, The Rymer is dedicated to showcasing art and artists from a varied array of media and experience. Similarly, we strive to employ diverse and thoughtful strategy in the promotion and distribution of exhibited or catalogued works. Perhaps most vital to this cause is wilful participation in such community efforts as The Nashville Art Crawl. On the First Saturday of every month, the galleries of Fifth Avenue are some of the city's premier destinations for art collectors, admirers and passerby, and The Rymer is no exception. On these evenings, our space is home to anywhere from 1,000 to 1,500 guests, all making their way from one gallery to the next, taking in the richly varied exhibitions, respectively.
