The School for Examining Essential Questions of Sustainability (SEEQS) is new public charter secondary school in Kaimuki, HI.
The School for Examining Essential Questions of Sustainability (SEEQS) is a new 6th through 12th grade public charter school in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. We opened our doors to our founding 6th and 7th grade classes on August 5, 2013! SEEQS offers an interdisciplinary project-based, community-based, tuition-free secondary school experience for Oahu families. The school will expand to its full size, serving 350 students in grades six through twelve, by the 2018-2019 school year.
SEEQS is closed today. We plan to resume school on Monday. Be safe!
School is *on* today at SEEQS (the sun is shining, students are playing outside as they wait for school). We'll update about tomorrow as soon as we can!
SEEQS needs folding tables and chairs. Before we go out and buy some, we thought we'd crowd-source: anyone have any folding tables or chairs you don't need anymore? (They don't need to be in perfect shape!) If so, please let us know. You can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Mahalo!
First day of school tomorrow. First Day of School Tomorrow. FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL TOMORROW! Who's excited??
Our Tuesday/ Thursday morning Volleyball Physical Activity is seeking a volunteer to help our students play. If you're interested and available from 8:30-9:20 on one or both days on a somewhat regular basis, please reach out to us at email@example.com.
SEEQS enrollment is now open for the 2015-2016 school year! Visit the Enroll page of our website for more information on the enrollment process at www.seeqs.org/enroll.
Thanks to the many of you who responded to our request for end-of-year donations. The response was heartening! We'll be sure to update our donors page shortly.
HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY TO SEEQS! On December 13, 2012, SEEQS was authorized to become a Hawaii public charter school by the State Public Charter School Commission. In these two short years, we've gone from an idea on paper and in the founders' brains to a thriving school community of more than 120 6th-8th graders, 15 faculty members, and a broad 'ohana that includes SEEQS families, community members, supporters, and funders. Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo for believing in us and this idea. We succeed because of you. It takes a village... and we're so grateful for the one we've got!

SEEQS is looking to expand our list of quality substitute teachers aligned with our mission, vision, and approach. If you are a DOE certified sub, and/or if you are an experienced middle school teacher and available to sub for partial or full days on occasion, please send us an email with your information to firstname.lastname@example.org. (If you have reached out to us previously but haven't heard back, please contact us again!) Mahalo!
It's another great day to be a SEEQer as EQS camp week continues! The Biodiversity EQS group spent the morning at Malama Loko Ea fish ponds, while the Food Sustainability EQS group was at Ma'o Farms and the Coexistence group went to Kakaako and learned about Honolulu Bike Share. Stay tuned for photos and further details later today! (Go to our page and choose to 'get notifications' to make sure you don't miss them!)
