The Design Exchange, presented by A Space to Share are looking for 150 artists and designers who create and manufacture their work, in Scotland. We are inviting you to participate in showing the best that Scotland has to offer, in modern, contemporary design. Your work will be sold by professional sales staff, in a retail space at Ocean Terminal, over 2 floors and will attract both international and domestic tourists, as well as regular visitors to Ocean Terminal from throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding area. Setup as a maker led fair, The Scottish Design Exchange will lead the way in uncovering and nurturing new and innovative creative talent, allowing Scottish makers to forge direct relationships with new customer groups in a sustainable way. Working in partnership with Ocean Terminal, creative networks and retailers we aim to establish the exchange as a fertile breeding ground to discover under represented artists and designers. From our showroom in Ocean Terminal we provide over 150 makers, artists and designers the opportunity to showcase their products directly opposite one of Edinburgh’s busiest tourist attractions. Through this project we will provide a platform for new artists and designers to retail alongside major brands. We also only charge our artists and designers a small administration fee meaning they get to take home a large percentage of their profits from sales, helping to support Scotland vibrant creative economy.
