Welcome to The Southgate, home of the warmest welcome in Gower.

Description

The aim of The Southgate is to provide local people living in Southgate and Pennard with a facility in the heart of our (pub less) village where we can come in relax and have a drink and chat with familyand friends. We believe it's hugely beneficial to ourselves, as residents of Pennard and Southgate to continue with the ethos of the founders of the club; which was founded in the 1920's in what were originally donated and converted cattle sheds. The club currently has a membership of approximately 300 people and whilst we are a club, we welcome non-members as well. Members using their membership card get lower prices than non-members for whom the prices are more like local pub prices. Food prices are the same for all. Membership is £20 joining fee plus £10 a year (until age 65 when it goes down to £5.) As we are a club, all important decisions are made by an elected committee who meet on a monthly basis. However, the day to day running of the club is done by the steward and stewardess and their team. The Southgate is currently in the good hands of Andrew (also our fantastic chef) and Sheila, who came to us from Glynneath Golf Club in April 2012.
