Wild at heart, ethical by nature! Sitting in attic window one night at a secluded sandstone shack in the heart of Freycinet Tasmania, I was mesmerised by the huge yellow moon so illuminating that I couldn’t sleep. The percussion of the heavy surf pounding the shoreline rattled the old shack windows while the birds chirped happily as they roosted for the night in the nearby bushland. In the dark of the night, with the light of moon as a back drop everything appeared as though it was outlined with a black ink marker. It was at this point that I knew that I had to make a change in my life, a drastic change in my mind stead and I then knew that it was my job to help reveal to others what I was lucky enough to now see. This was the setting for the birth of The Spotted Quoll Studio. The next morning I woke early to see the sea mist burning away in the warm sunshine of a Tasmanian winter’s day, I immediately grabbed a fresh piece of paper and the closest possible writing implement and started jotting down all the ideas that had swirled around in my head most of the night. Inspiration overflowed like a burst dam. Hours just disappeared before I immerged from my creative state to realise that in one weekend I had put an entire business plan together. A plan to use the native, natural inspirations around me to create environmental inspired designs for people’s homes, that will hopefully not only raise awareness of our natural wonders and endangered species but also aid in means of saving them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ($2 from every canvas sold and 20 cents from every postcard sold is donated directly to protecting our natural wonders & endangered species.
