The Stag is situated at 6 Crown Street just off Union Street, and a short walk from the Music Hall. It was formerly the Star and Garter, the ‘Auld Starry’ as it was affectionately known in days gone by. Indeed it was once acknowledged to be the posties’ pub because of its proximity to the old Crown Street Post Office. Catering for groups of up to sixty people and boasting a great selection of lagers, ales, fine wines and whiskies, The Stag is the place to be if you’re looking for a good time. With several large HD screens, it’s the perfect venue for watching live sport.
