Based in Wollongong, New South Wales, The Velvet Heist is a burlesque performance collective that was created in 2012 by three of Wollongong’s most prominent burlesque performers, who were passionate to develop the Wollongong burlesque scence.
Welcome to The Velvet Heist! The Velvet Heist was born from the hearts and minds of three of Wollongong’s most prominent burlesque performers, keen to foster a burlesque culture in their local town. The three formed a collective and together they produce many of Wollongong’s burlesque productions and now offer classes to the general public who are curious about the wonderful world of burlesque. The Velvet Heist’s unique blend of classic and neo burlesque, intricate costumes and cheeky personalities make any Velvet Heist production a show not to be missed! Come along and witness the elegance and vintage glamour, the fun and frivolity, the shimmy and shake and the bump and the grind that is The Velvet Heist. Want to join in the fun? The Velvet Heist can be hired for hens nights and also offer a series of mini-workshop style classes designed for people who want to experience a little of what it’s like to be a burlesque bombshell!
