SUP is the fastest growing sport in the world and it seems like you can buy a board and paddle anywhere from anyone. But is it the right board for YOU or is it just what is for sale today? Are you buying it from someone who knows about the construction of product, has personally seen the product built, races SUPs all over the country, surfs SUPs, and is at the front of growing the SUP scene in Virginia Beach and the East Coast? The Virginia Beach Paddle Board Company is a small privately owned company singularly focused on YOUR SUP, not the SUP that is in the surf/sporting goods/department store/ on-line shop today. This sunday the Virginia Beach "Run What 'Ya Brung" SUP Race Series is going to move locations from the Narrows to Newmarket Creek in Hampton. Chuck Conley and the crew from the Mid-Atlantic Paddlers Association (MAPA) is hosting a free St. Paddy's Day Race. It is the same day as the Sharock Marathon in VB so we don't want to be anywhere near the oceanfront that day. MAPA puts on great events and this will be a little more race-like. There will be on-site registration, official starts, and official times. But is is still low-key and low-stress, a GREAT opportunity to get some race experience in!! Chuck is going to post more details so check the series FB page and come join us!!
It may be 27 degrees, windy, and nasty right now, but it is going to be 64, sunny and light SSW breeze on Sunday. Come on out to the Narrows at First Landing State Park, noon Sunday for the second event in out local SUP race series. You don't have to have a race board, you can do it on any SUP!!!
