Come have a seat at the table with us. There is plenty to share: in food, in stories, and in each other's lives. Each of us has something to share with our neighbors, and each of our neighbors has something to share with us.
The Well is a resource to help our neighbors connect over food and friendship. We operate a pantry of food, clothing, toiletries, and other personal supplies in Ybor City. We serve hot meals throughout the week, and bring food and supplies to people on the streets. On the first Saturday of each month, we serve a meal and host an open mic night called the Conscious Party. The Well is a part of the Underground Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Underground as a community prioritizes the poor, the oppressed, and the neglected. Many individuals, families and micro churches in our city build relationships with people who need help with basic resources such as food and clothing. This can be an intimidating level of need to engage, and one can burn out quickly when trying to build relationships with the poor all alone. We are here both for our neighbors in need and our neighbors who are meeting the needs of others.

Keep us in your prayers and please pitch in if you can as we are looking a bit short on covering our monthly operational costs for February. The sky is not falling and we trust that we will be fine, as we always are, just thought you might like to know and have an opportunity to help carry the weight. https://www.eservicepayments.com/cgi-bin/Vanco_ver3.vps?appver3=EueOFVlvTjRRNhtPNS_rxPORMJ4tSwq_4D6YBDJlreRBP2pW8-0bjucQZ7mSKujRK77aYtbgk2KpdPfx1d-3Yd1TQFig0lIT6FMj6ms7yDQUs4RFbMFyoP_iihvrbvMXmrcyn1C8RgFw4cg8-0_Qbuu9iQdLm56gUypwN-gUWwe2E5nZ2pBtD9K9AdC5uMKwrgkRoMrwc04qVas8o4uFaA==&ver=3
Our talents, abilities and opportunities come from God who gives them to us for the service of others. When we forget the meaning of the Kingdom of God, we put ourselves in first place. This indeed is a most destructive arrogance. God alone is to be worshipped.
Much of our work is a calling to mourn with those who mourn, and so today, as the calendar points all of the church to remember, I can't help but smile. -An Ash Wednesday Reflection http://www.welltampa.com/2016/02/ashes-for-beauty.html

Tis the season when all the large nonprofits send little things in the mail asking for donations. We too are having a benefit show this Saturday from 4-9pm @ The Well to collect funds and supplies to continue our twice weekly sharings and other activities: https://www.facebook.com/events/1157149240965182/ But, the best gifts don't come with a price tag. Individually we do not have much ourselves. But collectively, we have many diverse resources, perhaps some that we are not aware of. It is starting to get colder and we have friends who would greatly benefit from some compassion, kindness and assistance coming up on this holiday season. It breaks our hearts to develop strong relationships with people we share food with, but leave knowing that they have no place to lay their heads. Do you have a spare room, shed, large closet, or other space that you could open and offer for a kind, respectful, funny, loving person who is working on pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps after experiencing homelessness?
Please watch and share this brief Holiday message from your friends here at the Well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiYfqmA62GE
Here's a salty new post for you to savor this morning...
PLEASE HELP! One of our core team members at The Well had a minor heart attack this morning and also found out she has pneumonia to boot. Because she doesn't have insurance coverage the hospital turned her out already. She is home resting and needs some medications that are not cheap. We are going to go buy them but don't really have the budget for it. They will cost about $300. Would you please consider chipping in toward this urgent expense? You can drop it off at The Well (3023 N Florida Ave), I can come pick it up from you, or you can give online at the link below. Thank you so much for considering this need.

"What if you were forced onto a stage and had to live your whole life there, a perpetual audience watching and judging. Conversely, imagine you were forced to live the life of an invisible person? What if nobody saw you ever? ...Our friends who live on the streets often experience life as both." http://www.welltampa.com/2015/09/always-on-stage.html

"More bikes taking to the streets in Tampa will mean healthier neighbors, more connected and engaged communities, more investment in infrastructure for safer roadways, and hopefully less and less cars congesting our cities streets. It may also mean some less exciting stuff too." http://www.thewellybor.org/2015/05/tampa-bicycles-and-how-you-can-make.html
A friend of mine just posted this to her wall I think it belongs here as well. Congratulations to the Recycle Bin and Jessica! http://www.83degreesmedia.com/forgood/recyclebikegrant042815.aspx
