The Zen Den is a new meditation studio that offers breathing space in the heart of Glasgow’s City Centre. Suite 273 (3rd floor), Central Chambers, 93 Hope Street, Glasgow. G2 6LD Living and working in the city can be stressful and consuming – especially if you have a lot of things to do and a lot of places to be. Meditation offers us a chance to give back to ourselves so that we can truly be the best version of ourselves. Wouldn’t it be great if you had more clarity within your mind? Wouldn’t it be great in times of stress instead of ceasing up, you remember to breathe? Wouldn’t it be great to find the tools within yourself that help you switch away from your concerns and back into the present moment? Meditation can show you all of these things and more. At The Zen Den we are proud to be Glasgow’s premier non-religious meditation studio because we have come to realize that this ancient practice to settle the mind and body offers so much more. Come settle into yourself, learn how to focus your mind and reveal your soul at our urban meditation space. About our name ZEN = Meditative State / Absorption / Acceptance DEN = Safe Space / Hidden Home / Lair Zen is a word that was originally found in Buddhist circles and teachings. The word stemmed down from the Mahayana tradition where instead of putting their practice into the focus of a deity through ritual – there was a greater focus on meditation and the trusting of ones own intuition. Zen has become a modernised word of expression. People will say “I need a little bit of Zen in my life” or “I feel so Zen here” when they’re at a beautiful location on holiday. This is why we chose this word. We want people to feel a little bit of Zen in their life and we want to help them get it. Den again has many meanings but has become a modern word representing a place you can go to feel safe, be yourself and let go! That’s what we’re all about and we’ve brought these two ideas together so we can host the space for you to accept the present moment and feel safe at the same time.
